2005 - 2011 Porsche 911 RS1 Street by LOMA

porsche 911 rs1 street by loma picture
LOMA is best known for its work on the C6 Corvettes, but recently the German company has decided to turn its sights on Porsche. Because of the company’s location, all of the parts in the kit are made in Germany using carbon fiber, which is something a Porsche owner will prefer.
The 911 GT3 RSR is one of the most awesome Porsches ever built, but it’s not built to handle daily driving nor is it priced for the average Porsche buyer. To help satisfy your urge to own one, LOMA decided to make a kit to allow for you to turn your 997 into an RSR.
The 911 retains the stock engine that produces at least 325 horsepower, but LOMA offers a sports exhaust system to give the car more of a racecar soundtrack. The suspension and brakes also stay the same as the stock car, so the car doesn’t ride any lower than stock unless you decide to lower the car yourself.

Spy Shots: 2014 BMW M235i Caught Lapping Nurburgring

We have heard rumors about a possible M235i ever since BMW unveiled the M135i Concept at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Back then it was rumored that the production version would carry the same M135i nomenclature, but considering that BMW has changed its naming system, the two-door coupe version will be called M235i.
Until now, all we had were rumors and speculation, but today our spy photographers caught the M235i lapping the Nürburgring. As expected, the prototype is heavily camouflaged, but it is pretty obvious it will carry an aggressive exterior look similar to other M models.
Under the hood, rumors suggest we are going to see the same engine we saw in the M135i Concept, which is a straight-six-cylinder engine with M Performance Twin Power Turbo technology that puts down more than 300 horsepower. The model will also be equipped with a rear-wheel-drive layout and sports suspension setup.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Indianapolis 500 Pace Car

chevrolet corvette stingray indianapolis 500 pace car picture
Chevrolet Corvette served as an Indianapolis 500 pace car for the first time back in 1978 and Chevrolet has sent a total of 11 models to pace "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing." The 2013 model year will be the 12th time a Corvette model will pace Indianapolis, and as rumored two days ago, it will be the new Corvette Stingray.
The model will be equipped with the track-capable Z51 package, which adds a limited-slip differential for reduced under-steer while cornering, improved aerodynamics and ride tweaks to help it handle corners more effectively. The Stingray Pace Car is painted in a Laguna Blue Tintcoat exterior combined with official Indianapolis 500 graphics on the doors.
The technology features and powertrain will be identical to the standard version, except that the Pace Car will be equipped with track-mandated safety features and strobe lights.

Audi A9 Expected to Arrive in 2016

1.
The long awaited Audi A9 has been in limbo for the past couple of years with Audi seemingly taking its time to unveil its new flagship sedan. And that’s after word spread out that the German automaker trademarked the A9 and S9 names last year.
But there appears to be a groundswell of movement in Ingolstadt these days and according to Auto Motor und Sport, the A9 is expected to be launched in 2016.
Circle those calendars, fellas.
The date of the A9’s launch has changed multiple times, but the latest timetable seems to point to a more concrete expectation as to when the luxury sedan finally comes out and smiles to the cameras.
Another interesting tidbit surrounding the A9 involves the platform it’s going to use, which apparently is the same one that will underpin the next-generation Q7. Now, that’s interesting, considering that the Q7 is a pretty large SUV.

2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class by German Special Customs

mercedes-benz e-class by german special customs picture
The Mercedes E-Class is a luxury car normally reserved for suit-wearing, business types who know how to ride around in style. The car itself already sports a sleek and stylish design that underscores the class of its Mercedes badge.
But, and there’s always a but, the Mercedes E-Class isn’t exempt from aftermarket programs, especially if said aftermarket company can build a complementary kit that improves the luxury car’s looks while keeping its design spirit intact.
That’s where German Special Customs come into the picture. We’ve seen these fellas work on Mercedes models before, most recently on the 2013 CLS63 AMG.
This time around, it went to work on the E-Class, fitting it with an aggressive aerodynamic package that includes a plethora of new components, a lot of which were made from carbon fiber.
It certainly goes without saying the end product, judging by the photos GSC released, does remarkable justice to keeping the E-Class’ style going while adding a touch of panache to it.

Volkswagen Previews New Golf GTI Variant at the 2013 Wörthersee

1.Volkswagen Golf GTI W12
Volkswagen Golf GTI W12
In the past few years Wörthersee expo-show brought us some of the coolest concepts from both Audi and Volkswagen. This year’s show seems to be no exception, as Audi has already announced the TT Ultra Quattro Concept and Volkswagen has just announced that it will unveil a hot concept that will preview a new Golf GTI.
Talking about the new concept, Volkswagen boss Dr Ulrich Hackenberg said that it won’t be as powerful as the Golf GTI W12 Concept we saw at the same show back in 2007, but it will be more realistic.
While he declined to offer any other details on the new concept, it is rumored that it will preview an extreme version of the GTI built to celebrate the model’s 40th anniversary, maybe called Edition 40 GTI? That name holds some water because when the model celebrated its 35th anniversary, VW unveiled the Golf GTI Edition 35
.
If the new model will follow the tradition of the previous model; it will be carry about 25 to 30 more horsepower and will feature a more aggressive body language.

Lamborghini Celebrating its 50th Anniversary with Grande Giro

lamborghini celebrating its 50th anniversary with grande giro picture
Lamborghini was founded back in 1963 and by doing simple math you will see that 2013 marks the company’s 50th anniversary. 50 years on a market is a great reason to celebrate, and as far as we have seen, it will be quite a celebration.
Up to this point, Lamborghini has dropped the Veneno supercar and the Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario, and will continue with a "Grande Giro.” This "Grand Tour" will bring together a convoy of 350 Lamborghini super sports cars and will start on May 8th.
The "Giro" will start at Lombardia and will continue on to Toscana, Lazio, Umbria, Emilia Romagna, Forte dei Marmi, Grosseto, Roma, San Giustino Valdarno and will arrive in Bologna on May 10th. On the last day — May 11 — the convoy will depart again for Sant’Agata Bolognese.
An interesting fact: the 350 cars will measure about 4.5 km (2.8 miles) in length and will deliver more than 190,000 horsepower in total.

2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe Revealed in Patent Drawings

Jaguar announced its intentions to release a coupe version of the F-Type once the roadster version hit the market. Until now, however, the car has never been spotted testing anywhere around the world, so we had to just trust Jaguar’s word.
Today, we can add some substance to Jag’s claim, as leaked patent drawings of the F-Type Coupe have made their way onto the Internet and they reveal the final design of the sports coupe. Not that it’s very hard to imagine how an F-Type Coupe would look like, since you are essentially slapping a fixed roof on top of the F-Type Roadster. Reports point toward everything else being borrowed from the roadster version, including the exterior look and the engine lineup.
The F-Type Coupe will arrive on the market sometime in 2014 and will be followed by a more powerful R version. A Sport Brake version has also been rumored, but we doubt we are ever going to see it.

Insurance Companies Want to "Plug in" to Your Driving Habits

1.
Car insurance companies are always trying to find some way to better monitor your driving style and habits to help adjust their premiums accordingly. In fact, yours truly fell for the Progressive scam of plugging a small transmitter into the data port on my Mazdaspeed MX-5 with the promise that I could “save up to 30 percent.” Well, this little gadget sensed every time I tapped the brakes a little too hard or pushed my little turbocharged roadster into a corner just a little harder than usual, then it would beep and upload this information to the company.

Well, after noticing what this gizmo was up to, I quickly unplugged it and overnighted it to Progressive with a thanks-but-no-thanks letter. Well, now more insurance companies are getting into the tracking game with even more technology. In fact, State Farm has taken it a little further by installing an app on your Android 4.0 (or higher) smartphone. According to State Farm this app will collect “basic information about your driving,” but the insurance giant doesn’t offer a bit of info about what it will use this data for.
So, why would you allow your insurance company to track how, when and where you drive? Because they grease your palm, of course; State Farm is offering up a $50 gift card to the first 5,000 volunteers to give up their driving privacy and test the system. In fact, you don’t even have to be a State Farm customer to do this test and get the $50.
We say stay away from this deal and the insurance tracking devices altogether, regardless of how much they choose to offer you in return. Chances are that this information could potentially jack up your car insurance just because you park in a less-than-ideal area semi-frequently or brake a little harder than others. Plus, having your insurance company knowing what you’re up to at any given time is pretty dang scary.
What’s next, health insurance companies strapping devices on us to monitor our food intake and exercise?

2013 Audi R8 V10 China Edition

audi r8 v10 china edition picture.

We totally get why automakers from all over the world are suddenly falling over themselves trying to get some love in China. After all, it’s already the world’s largest auto market and the wide diversity of buyers in the country has given automakers of all levels opportunity to establish themselves and gain some footing in the market.
For its offering, Audi decided to build an R8 V10 China Edition specifically for this purpose. The car is limited to only 80 units and comes in a choice of two colors: Malibu Blue Body/Suzuka Grey Sideblades or the inverse Suzuka Grey Body/Malibu Blue Sideblades. Look at the photos and it’s easy to be enamored with the color choices Audi decided to use on the R8 China Edition.
In addition to the color choices, the R8 China Edition also makes prevalent use of ultra-light and high-strength carbon fiber. Both the R8’s body — the carbon matte fixed spoiler — and the interior are decked in carbon fiber, making for a true special edition model that lives up to the “special” designation. Rounding out the modifications for the 80-unit R8 China Edition is a set of 19-inch, high-gloss black wheels in a 5 twin-spoke “Y” design, further stamping the uniqueness and exclusivity of this special-edition supercar.
The interior of the R8 also strengthens its billing as a special edition. It includes the characters “R8 专享” to go with the model number embedded on the aluminum gear lever knob. Notice also that any number with a “4” on it has been removed to "respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers,” as it is considered unlucky – like the number 13 in the U.S., but intensified.
Adding to the supercar’s luxury swag are materials that include shark skin and colored stitching, the handbrake and steering wheel are wrapped in Alcantara, and the instrument shield is finished in carbon matte. Finally, R8 emblems also adorn the interior of the supercar, particularly on the dash and the aluminum door sill trims.
The entire cost of the R8 China Edition hits at 2,628,000 yuan, which is around $420,000 based on current exchange rates.

2013 Audi R8 V10 Limited Edition

audi r8 v10 limited edition pictureIf you thought the Audi R8 China Edition was rare, then you’ll be shocked to know that there’s a limited-edition model that’s even rarer than that. This is the Audi R8 V10 Limited Edition and, as its name suggests, Audi is only building a select number of these babies — 30 in all — for the Chinese market. To distinguish itself from the rest of the R8s out there, including the aforementioned China Edition, Audi decided to dress up the R8 Limited Edition in a unique Nordic Gold paint finish that, on looks alone, can make a serious case as a permanent color option for the R8.
Aesthetic modifications are also abound for this limited-run model, highlighted by front and rear air intakes and outlets, lightweight tailpipes, and a radiator grille that has been finished in matte black. The dress up continues with the front and rear slats. Additionally, the rear bumper, and the radiator grille surround and bars all sport a matte-titanium-grey finish. The front spoiler, side blades, fixed rear wing and the enlarged diffuser have been upgraded to carbon matte.
Inside, the R8 Limited Edition features sports bucket seats and headlining, both of which have been dressed with black Alcantara with contrasting stitching and piping, and the knee pad now comes in shark skin black with its own contrast stitching. Carbon matte, or at least inlays of it, was also used inside, particularly the A-pillar and the door pulls. To assert the limited-edition nature of this R8, the aluminum gear knob comes with a limited edition number, ranging from 1 to 33 with the numbers 4, 14, and 24 excluded from the list. Why, you ask? The number "4" equates to bad mojo for the Chinese.
Audi China has priced the R8 Limited Edition at 2,628,000 yuan, which is around $420,000 based on current exchange rates, an amount that affluent and passionate Chinese auto enthusiasts won’t have trouble shelling out.

2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta Giallo Acquila

ferrari f12berlinetta giallo acquila picture

Last week we brought you the first details on the 770 Daytona Milano — the first special edition designed by Ferrari using its new individually developed program. Regardless of the fact that the 770 Daytona Milano’s first image was likely a Photoshopped image of the F12berlinetta at its Geneva debut, it was still pretty sweet. Today is time for the first rendering of a new specially designed F12berlinetta, the Giallo Acquila. This model is designed by PininFarina in cooperation with Fioravanti.
As you can notice from this first rendering, this special F12berlinetta Giallo Acquila will feature an updated, more aggressive rear with some extra lines and a big spoiler. The wheel arches have also been made slightly wider and they hide a pretty large set of wheels. We cannot tell for sure if the 729-horsepower, V-12 engine will get any increases, but we can at least hope.
All these changes have transformed the F12berlinetta into an even more desirable supercar, but also into one even more expensive. The question is who has the right amount of money to acquire this special supercar? Question No. 2 is will this program actually be realized or just fizzle away before the F12berlinetta is actually released.

2013 Galpin Auto Sports GTR-1

galpin auto sports gtr-1 picture
A few days after Saleen announced its plans to build a modern-day 351 Mustang, another aftermarket company took to the LA Auto Show to reveal its own supercar project.
Should we be surprised that the announcement came from the folks over at Galpin Auto Sports?
Actually, that’s a rhetorical question because nothing GAS does surprises us anymore. It’s in the process of building a Ford GT-inspired supercar, one that it’s planning to name the GTR-1. GAS is claiming the GTR-1 will feature an astounding 1,000 horsepower. We typically take these claims with a grain of salt, but given GAS’ reputation as a trusted tuner, we think you can take that number to the bank.
To go along with all of this power, GAS is adding in a choice of handmade aluminum or carbon-fiber coachwork, a bespoke interior tailored to the customer’s desires, an improved drivetrain and suspension modifications.
This is all pretty much par for the course for GAS. The only thing that upsets us is the fact that we have to wait until we get closer to the early-2013 release of the GTR-1 before we get the full details. We’re sure it’ll be well worth the wait though.
Stay tuned for more info!

2014 Ferrari GTE Virtual Concept By Angelo Granata

ferrari gte virtual concept by angelo granata pictureThanks to a leaked teaser of the Ferrari F70 a.k.a the next Enzo, the rumor train is now at its peak.
Using the various pictures that Ferrari has taken and keeping Pininfarina’s current design language in mind, a man named Angelo Granata has created a beautiful rendering of what he thinks is the next Ferrari F70.
It does stay true to the Ferrari design language, although if you glance at the dual-projector LED headlamps for a moment, it has an uncanny resemblance to the Aventador. Now that is something that Ferrari would definitely avoid, given the heavy rivalry. Also it’s lacking the iconic F1-inspired nose from the original Enzo, which was a distinguishing factor in terms of design. This nose does, however, serve a purpose, as its duckbill shape adds much-needed downforce to the front axle as the vehicle’s speed increases.
The rear end is a perfect mixture of the F12Berlinetta, Enzo and the 458 Italia, though the quartet tail lamps may not make it in the final design. The virtual concept’s body measures in at 4,650 mm (183.1 inches) long X 2,030 mm (79.9 inches) wide X 1,080 mm (42.5 inches) high, but no estimated weight was given.
The concept houses a mechanically actuated spoiler which is not only cool as heck, but also keeps the car planted on the track. With the kind of power the Enzo successor is supposed to pump out, that actuated wing may not be a bad idea.
The Ferrari GTE virtual concept is fitted with a 7.3-liter V-12 engine that pumps out 800 horsepower and a KERS hybrid system that adds an extra 120 ponies to the stable. This gives it a net horsepower of 920, which is exactly what all of the rumors are pointing to with the new F70. Unfortunately, the engine setup isn’t confirmed, except for the KERS system, so this is still just speculation.
With Ferrari being as silent as a monk on the Ferrari F70, we can do nothing but drool at these concept pictures and hope that some elements make it to the final official design.

2013 Ferrari FF Czech Edition

ferrari ff czech edition picture

Ferrari’s Tailor Made Personalization Program has produced yet another one-off FF supercar, further proving that the Italian automaker is serious about giving customers exactly what they want.
The latest model was actually built for Czech dealership SF Motors and has been appropriately called the "Czech Edition". There are no performance modifications on this one, but what it does carry is a host of aesthetic upgrades that definitely differentiates itself from the rest of the FFs roaming around the world these days.
The FF Czech Edition comes with a matte-orange finish that Ferrari Tailor Made Personalization Program calls "Rosso Dino.” Whatever name it came up with for this, it looks absolutely sick. On top of the matte orange finish is a matte black roof, a carbon packet, Daytona seats for the interior, a high-tech JBL sound system with a pair of Ferrari-branded headphones, a passenger display, and a "Specially made for Czech" plaque complete with the Prancing Horse logo on one end and the Czech flag on the other.
If you really think about it, there are not a whole lot of upgrades on this one, not even something that packages itself as a "Czech Edition" like a flag badge or something. But either way, this one-off FF looks pretty sweet.
At a whopping 7,390,000 CZK (€295,000/$385,700) price tag, it had better be “sweet.”
Big thanks to Ondřej Vávra and Aleš Chytráček of CzechFerrari.Cz for the photos!

2013 McLaren MP4-12C "Mark Cavendish" By McLaren Special Operations

mclaren mp4-12c mark cavendish by mclaren special operations picture

If you’re an athlete or a celebrity, it’s a given that you get the perks that ordinary people don’t have access to. In some cases, those perks extend to the auto industry, as cyclist Mark Cavendish will attest to.
Considered as the most successful sprinter in the history of the Tour de France, Cavendish certainly knows about going from Point A to Point B in a hurry. As such, British supercar maker McLaren bestowed the kind of unique honor to the British cyclist that we normal folks can only dream about.
They named a brand new color for the MP4-12C after him.
As part of McLaren Special Operations, the new color is called "Cavendish Green,” a color inspired by the jersey worn by the points leader on each stage of the Tour de France — one that Cavendish has worn on numerous occasions. The satin green finish that is "Cavendish Green" was wrapped on a special one-off MP4-12C by MSO, McLaren’s very own bespoke supercar customization program.
To create a truly unique look for the MP4-12C, the supercar’s body was also finished with a subtle metallic green flake, creating a striking look on the British supercar that definitely speaks to its uniqueness.
“To celebrate Mark’s green jersey accolade, ‘Jersey Green spheres’ were added to the satin finish," explained Paul Mackenzie, Head of McLaren Special Operations. "These only become visible in direct sunlight to give a very subtle touch, inspired by Mark’s fantastic win.”
It’s one thing to have a brand like McLaren create a color in honor of you, but it’s another thing to have them name it for you.
Mark Cavendish is awesome for that reason.

2017 Audi R20

audi r20 picture

When Audi announced the R8 E-tron has been dropped we were pretty disappointed, to say the least. But, to our surprise, it looks like Audi hasn’t entirely dropped the idea of offering a hybrid supercar because new rumors seem to suggest that in the next three years we will see a street-legal version of the German automaker’s very successful LeMans race car, the R18.
The new model will be called the R20 and will be offered with the trademark full-length tailfin of an R18 LeMans racer. In order to help distinguish itself as an Audi model, the R20 will be equipped with a downsized, single-frame grille; stacked LED headlights; ventilated front and rear wings; and an adjustable rear spoiler. The best part is that the next R20 will likewise be offered with gulling doors, which will offer access to a highly equipped interior. It will offer a multi-functional black panel center display, active-contour seats with integrated four-point belts and tons of other technology features.
Under the hood, Audi will combine a 550-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine with two electric motors that will drive the front wheels. The R20 will also be equipped with brake energy recuperation, high-speed coasting, and a broader start-stop application.
The new Audi R20 will be unveiled in 2015 at the Pebble Beach event. Production will begin in the spring of 2016 and there will be only 100-250 units offered.

The folks over McLaren Newport Beach are quite famous for their exclusive M4-12C supercar. After they have developed an awesome chrome 12C, they have decided it is time to do something extreme and unique again. And they achieved this with an MP4-12C featuring the infamous Gulf Racing theme.
You have to admit that the Gulf Blue paint scheme fits perfectly and makes the MP4-12C looking even more aggressive. It’s true the paint scheme looks a little bit brighter than the original Gulf paint schemes we saw back in the 1970s, but it will still turn some heads.
We are not too sure the price McLaren NB is asking for this supercar, but still it will be a nice addition to your garage. The car keeps the usual 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine producing a mouth-watering 592 horsepower at 7,000rpm and 443 pound-feet of torque between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm. That’s enough power to sprint the car up to an impressive top speed of 207 mph.

2013 Pagani Zonda PS

pagani zonda ps picture

We are not very sure how many of you remember the unique Zonda PS announced back in 2009, but for those of you that do, Pagani has now unveiled a new version of the PS edition. The model announced back in 2009 was spotted a few times while it was heading to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but it was stored and there was no chance to see it again.
However, a new version of the Zonda PS has been caught for the first time. As you can see, the new PS edition has dropped the previous white and black combination and looks a little bit more stylish, thanks to its new blue color.
The Zonda PS also features a gigantic spoiler and a roof scoop, just like the ones we have seen in the Zonda R.
More details on the new Pagani Zonda PS will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!

2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

lamborghini aventador lp 700-4 picture

With things like fuel economy and emissions taking the front seat in a buyer’s mind, most auto manufacturers are looking for ways to increase mpg. Lamborghini has been one of the stragglers in this revolution, but now it appears as if the supercar builder is ready to concede to the fact that fuel economy and emissions matter, even in supercars, with the announcement that it’ll include stop-start technology and cylinder deactivation in the 2013 Aventador LP 700-4.
For 2013, the Aventador will receive some mild updates, but Lambo is being very careful not to completely overhaul its popular flagship supercar. With the 2013 model year approaching fast, Lamborghini has chosen to release just a little bit of information regarding the 2013 Aventador. The vast majority of the information now is on the new fuel- and emission-reduction changes, but there are a few other changes of note.
We’ll continue to monitor the production of the 2013 Aventador and update this review as information hits the wire.

2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder

lamborghini gallardo lp560-4 spyder picture

Lamborghini unveiled the new Gallardo LP560-4 back at the 2012 Paris Auto Show in September, but only displayed the model in coupe form. We expected the Spyder version to come about sometime during a future auto show, but the the images of the drop top variant have unceremoniously surfaced online. This is an interesting move from Lamborghini considering that no information has been unveiled in the past few weeks which would make any of us think this was coming.
The only major difference we can see between the Spyder and the Coupe is the missing roof. There is also a "New Gallardo" logo in the front bumper to distinguish this new version of theGallardo.
Under the hood, Lamborghini will keep the usual 5.2-liter V-10 DOHC engine that delivers a total of 552 HP at 8,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. Because of the addition of the heavier roof, the performance numbers will be slightly lower than in the coupe version, which does the 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 201 mph.

2013 Koenigsegg Agera S

koenigsegg agera s picture

Supercar builders like Bugatti and Pagani have made a living building special, one-off supercars for their exclusive clientele. Recently, their Swedish counterpart, Koenigsegg, has been getting some buzz for doing the same.
In the past few months alone, multiple reports about an Agera X, an Agera R BLT and even aKoenigsegg One:1 have surfaced, giving further credence to the growing notion that Koenigsegg is knee deep in its client-customization program.
Guess what? A new variant of the Agera has been spotted lurking the streets of Hong Kong. These photos of what’s being called the Agera S were taken by Ron Alder W Photography and he was kind enough to share them with us.
There’s not much in terms of details surrounding the Agera S, although we’ve been told that the supercar was built by Koenigsegg for countries where biofuel is not readily available. What this means is that owners of this supercar can still enjoy the all of its 1,030 horsepower capabilities by using premium fuel instead of the Agera R’s Flex biofuel capabilities.
As far as color choice is concerned, the Agera S looks to be sporting a sexy jade green color, which if you think about it, is appropriate for a country that holds jade — the jewel, not the color — in high regard.
We’ll continue rolling out more information as it becomes available.
Update 12/3/2012: This review has been updated with higher-quality images and a good look at the sweet rims and massive brakes.

2014 Bugatti SuperVeyron

bugatti superveyron picture

At this point, we don’t know what’s going on with the Bugatti Galibier. Last we heard, it was being significantly altered because the higher-ups at Bugatti didn’t like its design, but that’s not important right now.
What’s important now is Bugatti’s recently announced 1,600-horsepower SuperVeyron – a car that first made headlines a few weeks ago when the French automaker released some information on it. The latest to come out about the SuperVeyron is that it will make its world debut next year at the 2013 IAA Motor Show.
Jens Schulenburg, Bugatti’s chief vehicle engineer, recently told Autocar about the challenges of building what is essentially the ultimate Veyron. “The big challenge will be reducing weight, Schulenburg said. "We are looking at some incredible technologies, such as wheels made entirely from carbon fiber. We’re considering hybrids, too.”
Bugatti is looking at shaving almost 550 pounds off of the Veyron Super Sport’s body while developing the SuperVeyron. We also expect Bugatti to bore out its existing 8.0-liter W-16 engine to a 9.6-liter displacement, which will help bump the SuperVeyron’s output to 1,600 horsepower. These extra ponies will net the newest Veyron a 1.8-second 0-to-60 mph time and a top speed that’s expected to reach 288 mph.
Should the SuperVeyron live up to the growing hype it’s been generating, a lot of people could end up forgetting that the Galibier even exists. At least until Bugatti decides to release that model.
We’ll keep an eye on this situation and bring you updates as Bugatti releases more info.
UPDATE 11/19/2012: Unfortunately, we don’t have any new information to bring you, but we have just released our first rendering for the upcoming Bugatti SuperVeyron. Enjoy!

2012 Epic Torq

epic torq picture

Epic Electric Vehicles is a relatively new company and we had not heard many things about it until 2010 when presented with the first details of its new electric roadster. Two years later, the new Epic Torq should be making its big debut in 2012.
Apart from the new roadster, the company is also working on an electric ATV and an electric boat, which are also planned to be launched later in 2012.
Judging by the first details, the new electric roadster should be a lot of fun, being able to reach the 60 mph mark in less than 4 seconds.
Technically, the Epic Torq is a bare bones three wheeler with a few carbon fiber panels and a spartan cockpit. Power comes from a 200hp electric motor which is fed by a set of 30 kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries mounted under the floor. For the moment, there aren’t any price specifications released, but we don’t expect it o be cheap.

Office-K Adds Some Visual Upgrades to the Ferrari F12berlinetta

office-k adds some visual upgrades to the ferrari f12berlinetta picture

Generally we do not agree with upgrading the look of a Ferrari model, and even less when it comes to the likes of the F12berlinetta. However, the past few weeks have brought us quite an impressive amount of upgrade packages for the Italian supercar, as the latest one was announced just the other days byDMC Tuning.
Today we have an offering from the Japanese tuner, Office-K, that updates the look of the F12berlinetta with a subtle exterior kit. The updates start with a new set of Forgiato F2.14 wheels sized 21 inches up front and 22 inches at the rear. The wheels are finished in a very cool gloss black combined with red and carbon-fiber accents.
The new wheels seem to fit perfectly with the new carbon-fiber wrap offered by the tuner. It covers all the plastic sections of the car, including the front air intakes, the rear diffuser and the air intakes.
Unfortunately, Office-K offers you no updates under the hood, so you’ll have to stick with the standard 729 horsepower V12 engine. But who’s complaining, right?

Performance
The modifications to the front spoiler increased the downforce, improving the overall driving dynamics of the car. Some of the steering and precision problems that were present in all the available variations of the model have been corrected to some degree by the improved aerodynamics. Road grip also seems to be improved due to the downforce enhancement.
Exterior
Hamann took the stock BMW 6-series and enhanced its design by releasing a second body kit. The new front spoiler increase the downforce aided by its enlarged grill opening. Side skirts are the same as the ones used for the first aerodynamic package. The back spoiler is similar to the ones used in the previous kit. It has been designed to offer enough space for four exhaust pipes.

Interior
The interior of the 6-Series was not been enhanced in any way by Hamann. Their modifications to the car were limited to aerodynamics and other mechanical design improvements.
The 2012 Hamann BMW 6-Series M Aerodynamic Packet comes with few changes to the original kit developed by the tuning company. The main changes were done on the front spoiler, reducing some of the base model's handling problems. All other elements are the same as in the first kit for the car with little or no modifications at all.
